“THE ARTS” | Feat. DJ Chris Pera

Daly City is origin to some of the world’s best DJ’s and Turntablists. In this promotional video for the Filpino-American Food+Arts Festival in Daly City, DJ Chris Pera explains his love for the art, his influences, and his experience growing up in Daly City.

The Daly City Fil-Am Food & Arts Festival

For over half a century, Daly City has been home to the largest Asian demographic in California. The Filipino Community has roots in Daly City going back over 50 years, and once a year the Filipino Community celebrates this heritage. On September 17th & 18th, 2011, we celebrate that legacy with the 16th Annual Filipino-American Food and Arts Festival (formerly the Fil-Am Friendship Festival) presented by The Daly City-Quezon City Sister City Committee.

“HOMECOMING” is the guiding theme of this year’s event. Throughout Northern California and Nevada, the Filipino-American Diaspora can trace its roots to Daly City. For over 50 years, Daly City has been the port of entry for hundreds-of-thousands of Filipino-Americans. This year, we are reaching out to all Daly City natives throughout the state to come back HOME, to celebrate this historic occasion.
